I found a fun and creative way to repurpose old ceiling fan blades while celebrating my love of classic horror movies. I painted scenes from some of my favorite films directly onto the fan blades, turning each one into a vertical wall-hanging piece of art.
At the base of each fan blade, I attached a 3D-printed hand that ties into the theme of the movie. For Night of the Living Dead, a zombie hand reaches outward. For The Invisible Man, a hand wrapped in painted bandages emerges from the fan. And in a nod to Vincent Price, one hand is shown holding a miniature skeleton like a puppet—an homage to his skeletal puppet in the film.
Each piece not only serves as a unique wall display but also functions practically: the 3D hand can hold lightweight items such as scarves or belts.
