Meet Unsolicity the Witch! This wall-hanging mixed-media assemblage centers on a haunting scarecrow witch perched against a weathered wooden backdrop and rustic fence - autumn flowers, vegetables, and withered vines surround her. Her spooky look includes a burlap-covered face, button eyes, and tattered black clothing. Her arms can be seen stretched outward and nailed to pieces of wood like a typical scarecrow, along with the traditional black crow that rests on her shoulder.

Upon closer inspection, scattered business cards can be found throughout the display. Their descriptions poke fun at the persistent and often unwelcome salespeople who appear uninvited at one's door. Beside the witch hangs a poem explaining her unusual purpose: much like a scarecrow protects crops from pests, she uses her supernatural abilities to protect homeowners from solicitors. Light blood splatter overlays the poem and business cards, suggesting that her methods of "casting them out" may be far more permanent than your typical scarecrow.

Blending folk-art, Halloween, and dark comedy, the piece rewards close examination with hidden jokes and visual storytelling. What initially appears to be a simple autumn scarecrow gradually reveals itself as a wickedly humorous tribute to every homeowner who has ever wished for a more effective way to deal with an unexpected knock at the door.
